Morven Park

No visit to the town of Leesburg would be complete without visiting the historic Morven Park along Southern Planter Lane. The park spans an area of approximately 1000 acres and takes pride in being the location of oldest buildings in the town with some of them dating back to the early 1780s. 

Today, Morven Park presents its visitors with the chance to take a peek into the town’s history by visiting the Winmill Carriage Museum, the Morven Mansion, and the famous Museum of Hounds and Hunting. But that is just the tip of the iceberg; the park also features a wide variety of outdoor activities including hiking, field sports, and equestrian events. Being one of the few parks of its kind in the nation, Morven Park has been dubbed the “Central Park” of Virginia.

Oatlands Plantation

This is another must-visit location in Leesburg, VA. Located along Oatlands Plantation Lane, this beautiful historic center is more than two centuries old and features a classic 19-century mansion popularly known as the Oatlands Historic House and several well-maintained gardens. Although some of the features like the statues, reflection pool, and bowling green were added sometime in the 1900s, features like the walkways and the garden wall are as old as the building. Oatlands Plantation spans an area of 415 acres and is a very popular destination for history buffs, nature lovers and architectural enthusiasts.
